Welcome to
Llamas & Alpacas

Henryville,

Located just 20 miles north of Louisville, Kentucky,
Castetter Farms has been breeding high quality alpacas and llamas since
1993. During that time, we have carefully chosen herdsires and outside
breedings to continually improve and broaden our genetic base. We offer
colorful bred and maiden females, breeding and fiber/pet males.
Our alpaca breeding service features Pperuvian Francisco, a
fine-fibered full Peruvian white stud, his son, Andean Blizzard, who
combines the best qualities of his full Peruvian sire and dam,
true black José of Harmony Wools, and introducing Super Nova, a
medium silver grey with beautiful fiber. Our llama breeding service
features Charliano and, soon, Peruvian Mosaic. Our breeding goals
include conformational soundness, excellent mothering ability and fine,
colorful fiber on an animal who is easy to handle.
We have acquired a solid knowledge of husbandry and fiber in our 10
years of experience with alpacas. Peggy is well-known as an AOBA and
ALSA show superintendent and Jean's fiber work has won ribbons at AOBA
and other fiber arts competitions. Our alpacas and fleeces have won
numerous ribbons are both small and large shows in the region. We also
offer custom handspinning services.
We offer mobile shearing services for small herds in the southern
Indiana and northern Kentucky region.
All of our alpacas are registered with the Alpaca Registry, Inc., and
all of our llamas are registered with the International Llama Registry.
All of our alpacas and llamas are fully guaranteed for reproductive
soundness and health. We can deliver or will arrange transportation
with a reputable camelid transport service to get our alpacas or llamas
to your farm safely.
